Ethiopia - Gerba Hechere

$18.00

10 oz light roasted, washed process coffee.

This coffee makes a fantastic and floral pour-over and highlights what I like most about washed, delicate Ethiopian coffee. I taste a bit of lemon acidity, jasmine tea and simple syrup, and even a bit of rose.

Hechere is the name of the farm area and buying site for this coffee, located in the Oda Muda Kebele near Gerba town in Ethiopia’s Guji region. The farms sit high up around 2,200 to 2,350 meters and the coffee is processed at a family-run mill in Gerba Dogo, operated by Gemechu Shonora and his brothers. They source cherries from nearby farmers, pulp and ferment them overnight, then dry the beans on raised beds in full sun. The result is a small-bean coffee with bright aromatics and syrupy sweetness which is a classic Guji characteristic.
